DESCRIPTION:Overview\nThis course provides participants with an understandi
 ng of how early assessment and appropriate treatment of newborns\, infants
 \, and children may help support healthy development and reduce the likeli
 hood of functional problems later in life.\nCourse Learning Objectives:\n\
 n 	Understand how early treatment of newborns and infants may help reduce 
 the likelihood of problems developing later in life.\n 	Explore embryology
  and the developmental milestones of infants and young children\, includin
 g normal and abnormal development during pregnancy and throughout the mont
 hs following birth.\n 	Learn how to assess infants and children using a co
 mprehensive approach.\n 	Develop a holistic treatment philosophy\, includi
 ng how to work effectively and sensitively with babies\, toddlers\, childr
 en\, and children with tactile sensitivity.\n 	Recognize signs of trauma a
 nd learn appropriate assessment and treatment techniques.\n 	Integrate spe
 cific treatment techniques for common visceral dysfunctions in children\, 
 together with the Barral Approach to cranial techniques.\n 	Understand the
  precautions and contraindications associated with the use of visceral man
 ipulation when working with children.\n 	Explore special clinical consider
 ations\, including common surgical procedures\, prematurity\, children wit
 h neuromotor difficulties\, and craniosynostosis.\n 	Gain practical experi
 ence working with infants and children under the supervision and guidance
