DESCRIPTION:Course Overview\nThe most fundamental\, yet most complex\, ques
 tion that a practitioner faces when working with a patient is\, "How do I 
 determine what are the reasons for this person’s pain and dysfunction?" 
 Listening Techniques 1 (LT1) assists the practitioner in answering that qu
 estion. Expanding on the evaluation tools taught in Barral Visceral Manipu
 lation: Abdomen 1\, as well as in Barral Neural Manipulation 1\, LT1 is de
 signed to reinforce powerful evaluation techniques known as "listening" sk
 ills. Listening Techniques’ are palpation tools developed by Jean-Pierre
  Barral\, DO\, which enable the practitioner to fine-tune assessment skill
 s. The evaluation phase of a patient’s treatment session is key to long-
 lasting results. Through precise evaluation techniques\, the practitioner 
 is able to determine\, and focus on\, the primary causes of a patient’s 
 dysfunctional pattern. No matter what type of modalities a practitioner us
 es\, this workshop enhances his/her evaluation tools and skills\, which in
  turn will lead to greater patient outcomes. The LT1 workshop includes lec
 ture\, demonstration and practice for each technique presented.\nCourse Ou
 tcomes\nUpon completion of this course\, participants will have learned:\n
 \n 	Practice "listening" techniques (palpation skills) that help guide you
  to the appropriate manual manipulation site.\n 	Learn to interpret the in
 formation the body is offering regarding imbalances and dysfunctions.\n 	D
 emonstrate through ”listening” how to determine which body structures 
 are involved\, and identify the best approach for treatment results.\n 	Pr
 actice ”listening” to the body systems\, as they respond to your manua
 l treatments.\n 	Explain and demonstrate the correct approach and amount o
 f force when working on different parts of the body and with different pat
 ients.\n 	Enhance your specificity when evaluating the body for restrictiv
 e patterns\, which will enable more effective treatment applications.\n 	U
 nderstand how to incorporate "listening skills" in the patient’s evaluat
 ion and treatment plan.\n 	Enhance palpation sensitivity to increase effec
 tiveness with treatment and patient outcomes.\n\nIf you have not studied L
 istening Techniques then this class will introduce you to one of the most 
 powerful evaluation tools that will help you determine where to begin with
  your patient treatment.\n\nIf you are not totally comfortable with your L
 istening Technique skills\, this class will help you to become proficient 
 with these evaluation tools.\n\nIf you have been using Local Listening and
  General Listening with your patients\, this class will take you to the ne
 xt level of your perception and abilities.\nPrerequisite\nVM1\, NM1\, cran
 ial training\, lymph training or Mechanical Link. To get the most benefit 
 from attending LT1\, VM1 is highly recommended as a pre-requisite.\nRequ
 ired Reading\nIf you have not had VM1\, please read Chapters 1 and 2 of 
  Visceral Manipulation II.\nSuggested Reading\n\n 	\n\n 	Atlas of Human A
